Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Tet! And welcome to the new Lunar year!

 

Stonegate's upper-grades keep adding cultural celebrations, this year by holding a Chines New Year event. With Mrs. Schmidlen leading this event, and the rest of the upper-grade teachers supporting her, students were able to enjoy a Chinese meal while hanging out with their friends.

 

Students from all different backgrounds supported this event and had their parents help with food and several other things that were needed to establish this event. Parents were very supportive and we had enough food for 222 students plus the staff.

 

From the experience of the Day of The Dead celebration held back in November, we made many more improvements in the way we run cultural events. We will continue to add other cultural celebrations so students can have the opportunity to share their cultures with their classmates. We look forward to sharing the model with other grades so as a whole school we can all celebrate the different cultures.
